Perth Scorchers young gun Chloe Piparo showed off her quality overnight with a match-winning half-century for Worcestershire Rapids against Essex in the Women’s One-Day Cup in the UK.
In her fourth game since heading to Worcestershire in May, Piparo scored an unbeaten 58 from 63 balls leading her side to a tight victory.
In fact, Worcestershire won by eight wickets on the Duckworth/Lewis method with zero balls remaining, meaning there was no margin for error.
Earlier, Essex made 7-187 from 40 overs, but Piparo guided Worcestershire to 2-132 after 25.1 overs before rain intervened.
The 21-year-old’s knock included six fours coming at a strike rate of 92.06.
Piparo’s breakthrough half-century comes on the back of scores of 6, 27 and 26 for the Rapids.
The right-hand bat will also play for Old Elizabethans in the Worcestershire League and will remain in the UK until August.
