Perth returns to WA Cricket’s traditional home for a twilight contest versus Hobart Hurricanes on 25 October, before three primetime games against Sydney Sixers (31 October), Melbourne Renegades (3 November) and Adelaide Strikers (5 November) at the WACA Ground the following week.
Another primetime blockbuster against Melbourne Stars (22 November) has been inked into the calendar, while the WACA Ground will host two neutral fixtures.
Meantime, Perth has just four trips to the Eastern States, mitigating the strain of cross-country travel.
Among the highlights is a trip to Adelaide Oval to play the Strikers on 24 November, as part of a league-wide weekend of marquee fixtures at big stadiums which rounds out the regular season.
There, the two Clubs will compete for the annual Faith Thomas Trophy, which honours the late Aunty Faith Thomas – Australia’s first Aboriginal female Test cricketer.
A season-opening clash versus Hobart at UTAS Stadium (20 October) is followed by a neutral match against Brisbane Heat at North Sydney Oval (22 October).
Contests against the Stars (29 October, Junction Oval) and Heat (9 November, Allan Border Field) bookend Perth’s first stint in WA, followed by back-to-back games in Melbourne (11 November, Renegades; 12 November, Sydney Thunder) and Sydney (16 November, Sixers; 18 November, Thunder).
Five Perth games will be simulcast by Channel 7 and Foxtel, split across four separate weekends, with the remaining games shown on Foxtel, Kayo and Cricket.com.au.
Those who progress to the Final will fight to become WBBL|09 Champions on Saturday 2 December.
Reflecting on the fixture, Perth Scorchers General Manager Justin Michael said:
“Playing all five home matches at the WACA Ground is a wonderful opportunity for the players and our fans, and we are looking forward to giving them the best match-day experience at our iconic venue.
“This includes a huge marquee weekend in Perth on 3 and 5 November, with double headers on both days to showcase the very best of the WBBL on and off the field.
"We are also thrilled to be taking part in a historic Faith Thomas Trophy match at the Adelaide Oval and look forward to bringing similar big stadium WBBL experiences to Perth in the future.
“In addition, the Scorchers’ TV footprint has been created with our fans in mind, with strong representation across free to air and WA-friendly timeslots to ensure everyone can enjoy WBBL|09.”
Perth Scorchers Head Coach Becky Grundy said:
“The WBBL is without doubt our players’ favourite time of year and we are excited to be making the full-time move to the WACA Ground this season.
“We love playing in front of Scorchers fans and making them proud. We can’t wait to see them out in force again this season.”
