Perth Scorchers have made one change to their 13-player squad for their first home match of Weber WBBL|09, against Hobart Hurricanes at the WACA Ground tomorrow night.
Scorchers confirm squad for home opener
Experienced seamer Taneale Peschel is available for selection, after making her return from appendicitis for Midland-Guildford in WA Premier Cricket over the weekend.
Peschel replaces Zoe Britcliffe, who has been omitted from the squad who travelled for matches against Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat last week.
Perth Scorchers Memberships, and tickets for every Perth Scorchers Weber WBBL|09 and KFC BBL|13 match are now available. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the Orange Army this season.
Young seamer Chloe Ainsworth will hope to continue an impressive start to her WBBL career, with the 18-year-old currently sitting equal-second among the leading wicket-takers in the competition with four scalps at 12.50 in two matches.
If selected, Ainsworth and tall quick Stella Campbell will get their first taste of WBBL action at the WACA Ground, a venue bound to suit their pace and bounce.
Experienced stars Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney have begun WBBL|09 in great form after both struck half-centuries during the opening two games.
Devine (87 off 44 balls) was in a destructive mood against Hobart, with her knock earning her Player of the Match honours, while Mooney compiled a classy 60 against Brisbane.
The Scorchers’ WBBL games record holder Chloe Piparo remains unavailable for selection due to a quad injury but is expected to be available against Melbourne Stars on Sunday.
