Embarking on his first KFC BBL campaign, the Albany product will be available for selection while star allrounder Mitch Marsh is with Australia’s Test squad.
Jackson has impressed for WA and Melville since overcoming the long string of injury setbacks that stalled the formative stages of his career, taking 10 wickets at 16.6 in three One-Day Cup (ODC) games.
He returned the best-ever ODC figures by a WA bowler in just his second List A match, ripping through South Australia with 6-31 at Cricket Central in September. Among Jackson’s victims were five of the Redbacks’ top six batters.
The 25-year-old was also important on ODC debut with three wickets against Tasmania in Hobart last season, playing his part in a victory that paved WA’s path to the 2023-24 Marsh Cup Final.
Jackson bowls with good speed, swings the new ball, and has the height to generate awkward bounce on a variety of surfaces.
He joins an imposing pace brigade featuring Jhye Richardson, Lance Morris, Jason Behrendorff, AJ Tye, Matt Kelly, Mahli Beardman and allrounder Aaron Hardie.
