Player Story

Tye is a late bloomer in domestic cricket, getting his opportunity at the 2013-14 Ryobi Cup for the Alcohol.Think Again Western Warriors. Tye was a revelation during the tournament and, after a season at Sydney Thunder, joined the Perth Scorchers for BBL|04, where he was one of the ‘finds of the tournament’.

Tye, who also plays for Scarborough in WA Premier Cricket, perfected his trademark knuckle-ball, while his ability to change pace and nail a yorker, make him one of the most damaging and economical T20 bowlers in the game. The right-armer finished with 14 wickets and an economy rate of 6.85, including a memorable haul of 4-18 in the semi-final against the Melbourne Stars after facing out a maiden 20th over with the bat.
