Alana King instantly became a fan favourite at Perth upon joining the Scorchers ahead of the 2021-22 Weber Women's Big Bash League season.
Her star has risen considerably since then, becoming a regular for Australia in all three formats. The star leg-spinner was an important part of the Australian outfit that won the Ashes, an ODI Word Cup, and Commonwealth Games gold in the space of eight months.
King possesses impressive control, an excellent temperament and uses several variations, while playing with an infectious passion for the game.
The 27-year-old has also shown significant development in her lower order batting, striking 26 off just 9 balls to almost drag Perth across the line against Melbourne Stars.
King has proven her wicket-taking ability in her two seasons in orange, finishing as the team’s leading wicket-taker across both campaigns.
An exciting player to watch, King will be one of the key performers for Perth in WBBL |09
