Saturday’s clash with the Hurricanes represents the Club’s ’10 Season Celebration’ match, where the Scorchers will announce their Team of the Decade during a special pre-match presentation.
The pre-match presentation will include kids from the White Knights Baldivis Cricket Club as well as representatives from Country Cricket clubs walking out onto the field of play to receive a playing cap and frame.
White Knights Baldivis were chosen to be part of this special presentation, after receiving the Growing Cricket for Women and Girls Award at this year’s WA Cricket Community Cricket Awards.
WA Cricket General Manager High Performance & Elite Teams Kade Harvey and Christina Matthews AM, Australia’s most-capped female Test player and former WA Cricket Chief Executive Officer have come together to select the final side, highlighting their influence on the Club across the past decade.
The Club’s passionate Members and fans also had the opportunity to choose their favourite players (including their choice of captain) from a list of nominees, featuring iconic Scorchers stars and standout performers from the past decade.
The Scorchers moved into fourth on the Weber WBBL|10 ladder following yesterday’s dramatic super-over tie with Sydney Sixers in Hobart. A win against the Hurricanes tomorrow night will see the Scorchers qualify for the WBBL Finals for a second consecutive season.
